Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays, but not for the traditional reasons. Whether I’m single or coupled up, I’ve never seen it as a romantic day – it’s always been more of a girl’s day for me. I have a nostalgia for the kid’s version – sweethearts, hand-written valentines in cubby holes, heart confetti. My mom and I always exchange gifts, and I have an ongoing tradition with my best friend that we send each other silly sappy Valentine cards. It’s a carryover from high school when we used to go to dinner the two of us and have girl’s night every year – even when we both had boyfriends. In college, all of us girls would dress up and go out to a nice dinner, then get cocktails. It’s a girlie holiday, there’s no doubt about it, and in that spirit, everyone should splurge a little and get something new and fun to wear – no matter your plans. In celebration of that, we are having a Valentine’s Day promotion on some of my favorite Valentine’s day looks from now until February 14th!

Galentines Day – Girls Night Out
If you’re like me and like your best girls to be your Valentines, there’s no better way to spend February 14th than with a girl’s night out. Also, I once heard that for singles, Valentines is one of the best nights to go out because all of the couples are home. And there’s no better reason to dress up than Girl’s Night Out. It’s my favorite occasion to dress for because of course, girls love to dress up for each other. You can be a little bit more daring and wear something more edgy that a date might not get or appreciate. I love these looks because they are confident, flirty, and fun. I’ve pulled together some options so that no matter if you’re doing just happy hour, a nice dinner, or a full on night on the town, there should be something fun that fits your fancy. Click on the looks below and it will bring you directly to the product page!
The Real Valentine – Date Night
If you’re more of a traditionalist and are going out on a hot date for Valentine’s Day, it’s just another excuse to get dolled up! I also love date night looks – I always felt like getting ready for a date is usually as fun as the date itself. The anticipation and excitement paired with pampering yourself is all such a fun part of the routine. For Valentine’s Day dates, I like the idea of either going classically sexy in a festive red or simple black, or sweet, young, and simple in whites and florals. I’ve included a couple options for either direction.
The Cozy Wine Night – Cooking In
Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to clear your evening and cook a fun, festive dinner in – complete with some great wine. No reservations required. No matter if you’re cooking with girlfriends or a date, you want to be comfortable but still feel pretty and celebratory. Whether for you that means a long cozy sweater over some leggings, a cute top, or an easy dress, I’ve got some options for you. This is my plan for this year, so I know I’ll probably be wearing one of these looks!
I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine’s Day, spending it with people you love and having some well-deserved fun!

"Our design team's mood board for Folk Song was filled with, as usual, vintage photographs of muses from the 70s. This time, maybe a reflection of the time it was created, a lot of it was based on open spaces, adventures on the road and nature. A feeling of freedom but in quaint places on the road, the kind of getaway that ends up as dog eared, worn photographs in a family photo album. " - Spell
We are thrilled to reveal Spell's Folk Song collection at harperandtucker.com at the official drop time tonight: Monday, May 17 at 8pm EST!
