Spell & The Gypsy Collective
Spell & The Gypsy Collective is a modern bohemian fashion brand started by Elizabeth and Isabella, two sisters in Byron Bay, Australia. Their collections are "inspired by far-off places vintage treasures and childhood memories." They are inspired by their Latvian grandparents who fled Europe and ended up in Australia, and also by their hippie parents who were a leather craftsman and a potter.
All Spell garments are designed and sampled in the Arts & Industry Estate of Byron Bay, and produced ethically in factories around the world that are chosen as partners because they share and are held to Spell's strict ethical and sustainable vision. Spell has made commitments to the planet and the people that they employ in all aspects of the company. They strive to "minimize harm to our planet in all that they do" and say that "sustainability is at the core of every decision they make." From utilizing natural sustainably sourced or recycled fabrics, to overhauling their packaging to be entirely recyclable or compostable, Spell is at the forefront of sustainability innovation. Their people and planet policies encompass everything from animal welfare, to sustainable suppliers, to preventing modern slavery. They also take corporate responsibility seriously, giving back to many causes close to their heart. Most recently, this meant giving 100% of profits from their Unicorn Tears Collection to Australian Bush Fire relief efforts - amounting to $967,833.
