New Arrivals: Spell's Sundown, Drop 2
Our last drop of Spell's Sundown Collection may have felt like a little tease with the limited handpicked styles that had arrived. While Dakota and I were drawn in by the soft peach and yellow pastels of the first drop, we were totally enamored with the second Sundown drop. The design story of Sundown seamlessly transitions into desert beauty in drop 2. This may be one of the most coveted Spell collections to date, and we are thrilled to finally share with you the pieces we curated, and why we knew there was something extra special about this collection.
This continues to be Spell's most sustainable collection to date. Every single garment in every drop from the Sundown collection contains preferred fibers featuring sustainably sourced organic cotton and Spell's notable LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose blend. Spell continues to inspire and pave the path for sustainable fashion and beauty, achieving and reaching beyond the milestones they have set.
With that in mind, here are the styles that we have chosen from Sundown - Drop 2! This second drop will arrive at harperandtucker.com at the official Spell drop time - Tuesday, February 16 at 6pm EST!
- Spice -
Composed of 100% organic cotton, the Sundown print is a signature hand drawn exclusive to this collection. The Spice colorway is inspired by a desert sunset, an artfully rich blend of golden hues and shades of mauve, sitting upon a sandy canvas. At the hem are intricately drawn camels, transporting the mind to the crisp, unwavering desert sun.
The Sundown Gown in Spice is signature Spell, blending modern boho fashion with timeless design. She is truly a one-of-a-kind piece that you can wear for years to come. I love how Spell creates a feminine, hourglass silhouette with the elasticated waistline, but then highlights the movement and grace of the piece with a breezy skirt. Antique buttons go all the way down the dress so you can choose to wear her as pictured, with more buttons undone for a slit-like peekaboo effect, or entirely unbuttoned as a short-sleeve duster (I envision her layered on top of an all-white ensemble). I could picture her with a wide-brimmed straw hat, macrame bag, and slip-on sandals just as well as with tie up, open-toe heels and a woven clutch.
The Sundown Boho Mini Dress is bound to be a favorite, so if you're coveting this design (like we are) I would not hesitate to act before she is completely sold out! She combines timeless boho femininity with a relaxed silhouette for the everyday. We love this piece for her versatility and playfullness. She's effortlessly breezy for the summertime and would be the perfect day-to-night staple, but her soft palette would pair with gold statement jewelry and taupe mid-height boots beautifully in colder temps. With a slightly shorter hem than her sister boho dresses, she is playful and has infinite possibilities.
The Sundown Kerchief Skirt may be my personal favorite Spice design! While she doesn't feature the camels like the previous two styles, this skirt is designed with movement and motion in mind. I do not have anything like her currently hanging in my closet and feel like she would be a piece I could see myself reaching for whenever I want to feel a little extra special. Paired with something as simple as a knit pullover or a cream silk cami, she's deceptively subtle on the hanger, yet comes to life when you put her on. She highlights the beauty and femininity of her wearer through the movement of a handkerchief, asymmetrical hem. Wear her with a bootie, sandal, or white pump and she will transform to fit the occasion.

Just like Spice, the Turquoise fabrication is composed of 100% organic cotton. A pool of vibrant turquoise with blends of moss colored greens and lapis blues, this colorway beckons you to a vivacious desert oasis. I love that this print also contains the hidden roaming camels, painting and connecting the collection together.
The Sundown Boho Midi is that eye-catching pop of vibrancy and color that all Spellies are going to obsess over. A loose-fitting design with intricate details such as the double tassel tie and antique button closure, she epitomizes true romance and whimsy. We are loving her midi length and think she's the ideal complement to an espadrille or tie-up wedge for a backyard soiree or quick jaunt to the farmer's market. Full disclosure, we've had many customers already reaching out to us about this piece already so we know that she's not going to last in our shop for very long!
We never say no to a Spell topper! This Sundown Maxi Robe is absolutely no exception, and this may be my favorite robe to date. With the camel print adorning both the hem and sleeve borders, she's an effortless beauty that would make a simple white tee and denim shorts sing. I am loving the maxi length, side pockets and detachable tie belt. This piece is one of my favorites because she looks like she belongs poolside while you sip a Mai Tai, and the desert print story transports you to another part of the world.
These designs feel like a special portrait of a desert landscape. We love the contrast of the deep, yet muted golds and mauves of the Spice print contrasted with the vibrant and cool blend of hues in the Turquoise. It has been a while since we have been this excited for a drop and we cannot wait to see these designs coming to life on our customers very soon.
As we mentioned in our previous blog post about Sundown, Spell continues to produce 2021 collections in limited quantities for the US. We continue to order the maximum amount available to us by Spell, but each piece from this collection is limited in its amount and therefore is particularly precious! Our hope is that we may be able to restock some of these beauties (and perhaps pick up some more styles from the collection), but for the time being, treat this grouping as the one-of-a-kind collection that it is!
